Clark Gable Collection – Volume One

Clark Gable was crowned the "King of Hollywood" during the 1930s as he was the most popular actor at that time. Watching these films you can certainly see why. Any film that requires Clark Gable to play a charming, rugged, handsome, man's man was a piece of cake for this actor. In these three films that is what he is asked to do and he pulls it off easily. Though these are definitely not his strongest films, they are still nice watches if only to see some excellent cinematography and fall sway to the appeal that Gable possessed. These three films, which were the only ones he did for Fox Studios, are available for the first time on DVD. For any serious Clark Gable fan this collection will really round out yours!

Jack, Buck and friend Shorty (Jack Oakie – Around the World in Eighty Days, The Great Dictator) rescues a woman, Claire Blake (Loretta Young – The Bishop's Wife, Platinum Blonde) who is looking for her missing husband. Jack agrees to help Claire find her husband and before long an attraction develops between the two. Beginning with winning $1,000 off a bet on Buck's stamina, Jack buys the supplies he'll need and sets out on the search for John Blake (Frank Conroy – Charlie Chan in Egypt).
