Red Hot Chili Peppers

Hey, what's with the long periods (4 years) in between releases? And I should not even count their last release as it was a Greatest Hits package. Wouldn't it have made fans happier if this hugely popular band had released regular length albums but closer together? Apparently they wrote and recorded enough material to make 3 discs. Then that would have equaled more touring which equals happier fans and more bucks for the band. Anyways, what do I know? The Red Hot Chili Peppers are the first band to not only make alternative music cool but profitable. They are so huge that they are now considered a mainstream band and played on top 40 radio stations…curse or victory? I guess only they can decide that. As they have aged and some members have gotten sober so has their music. And I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. The music is more focused and less haphazard. Their sound is mellower and less full-force energy. What has stayed is the band's inventive mix of rock and hip hop music. They definitely make music with plenty of beats. The 28 tracks are divided into 2 discs named Jupiter and Mars. Jupiter contains the more mellow mid tempo songs about love and such and Mars is a funkier disc. It is for us the fans to decide if we are digging their scene. I think it will definitely be one of the bigger rock albums of 2006.
