The Killers

Everyone was waiting with bated breath for the follow-up to the multi million selling debut by these four boys from Vegas. I am sure they were also holding their collective breaths after its release knowing that it was really different from the music on their debut album. Gone is the 80s sound influenced by bands like The Cure and Duran Duran and other British New Wave bands and it has been replaced by a very, if you pardon the expression, American sounding album. The sound is definitely fuller than that of their first album in that they have used strings and choirs on this one. What hasn't changed is the commercialbility of the album. All songs are ready for radio as they are short and have soaring choruses. It is an album that fans will probably not like on first listen (because of the change of focus), but will come to appreciate on subsequent listens.
