I think that will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas is competing with Beyonce for the title of most over-exposed artist. He has his own group, appears in most of groupmate Fergie's videos, has produced some other artists' albums, and now is scoring movies. Where will it stop? On the soundtrack for "Freedom Writers" he appears on 4 tracks. The music from the movie features songs by urban artists such as Common, Talib Kweli, Cypress Hill, and 2Pac. Mixed in with the more 'modern' songs are some old school favourites such as Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" and "Hip Hop Hooray" by Naughty By Nature. There are also three more classical film score numbers by Mark Isham on the CD. Like the film itself, there is nothing new or radically life altering on the album, but it is solid.
