This documentary soundtrack is a fond look at some up-and-coming Texas artists performing in intimate venues during the mid-1970s. Most of the performers, such as John Hiatt, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, and Guy Clark, are now known as some of the best songwriters in country music. Besides the music you get some added dialogue and discussion between the performers. This allows us some insight into who and what these musicians were. It is quite a cool and unique opportunity to hear performers playing music for other performers for the love of it. The tracks are all previously unreleased and have been fine-tuned soundwise. If you enjoy this then pick up the companion DVD that also has been released.
