Just because you stick a whole bunch of styles or influences on one album does not mean that you will not come out with a boring album. Everything on this album is something you have heard before. The Architects are obviously influenced by bands like Johnny Truant and The Dillinger's Escape Plan, and being influenced is not a bad thing, but when you come up with nothing original it leads to music without passion. Guitar riffs accompanied by screaming vocals with high gloss production values have all been heard before. Give us something new! It is a decent debut album by musicians who are so young, but they better figure out their identities by their second outing.
