Unlike previous outings this latest album from the hard rock quintet from Germany has delivered a more mellow side. It still has a hard edge to it, but it would more accurately be classified as hard pop. Other than the track "321" everything else on the album is quite poppy sounding with plenty of ballads to be had. I presume that this is their attempt to age gracefully and remain somewhat relevant. There is nothing more painful to watch than an aging hard rock musician in red leather pants who is balding try to belt out hard rock anthems. They have been at this rock music game for 35 years and this their 21st album demonstrates that they have learned a thing or two along the way. Maybe it will take an album like this to bring them back to the forefront in North America. We will see.
