Sounding like she is straight out of some European dance club, Renée Zawawi keeps things light and syrupy. Though the album moves from sound to sound seemingly effortlessly, she is at her best when she is doing light dance club tracks which are infused with Middle Eastern beats. On the tracks where she is sounding like an odd mixture between Bjork and world beat music Zawawi are not quite as successful. There is an interesting theme of searching and positivity to the album which is not surprising when you read that as a child she was abducted from her native Philadelphia and only got back to the United States years later after her mother had died. Like its globe traveling mistress the music on the album seems to want to venture everywhere. It's up to you to decide if that is a strength or a weakness.
