Fresh off her departure from the band Nightwish, Tarja is releasing her second solo album. Whereas Nightwish is a metal band, her solo work is more along the veins of her classical training. There is still a rock element to the music, but her operatic voice is definitely in the foreground.
The album is a conceptual one divided into three parts: Ite Missa Est, The Escape of the Doll and Sunset. There are 18 songs that make up the three parts. It certainly is very atmospheric stuff which takes a few listenings to in order to get an accurate picture of what is going on. Throwing us a change up she even covers Alice Cooper
