How could you resist buying an album that features the black and white picture of a cute, towheaded boy on the front? Not me!
This two disc collection is in essence a bunch of short numbers featuring Frisell and some of his oldest musical friends playing their hearts out. One song leads to the next so it just sounds like one big musical story. It almost sounds like the score to a film or the like. Even though there are different musicians who were recorded at different times it really does flow together like one piece of music. Frisell demonstrates that he has not lost any of his immense talents on the guitar on this recording. The highlight of the album for me is a beautiful rendition of the Sam Cooke classic "A Change is Gonna Come".
