Starting at 1:00 p.m. each day this weekend some of the most reputable and loudest metal bands will descend upon Parc Jean Drapeau on Ile Ste. Helene as part of an inaugural metal festival. Heavy Mtl will entail 30-odd metal acts for fans of this genre to enjoy. From Warrant to Iron Maiden to Three Days Grace to Motley Crue, the past and the present along with every permutation of metal will be represented. Each day between the two stages you can listen (if your ears, throat and legs can stand it) to 10 hours of metal music. Quite a lot of bang for your buck!
As if all that isn't enough there will also be a launch party on Friday night at Club Soda (1225 St. Laurent) featuring Brant Bjork, Bionic and Alpha Galates. It is shaping up to be a rocking weekend in Montreal.
