Back to the beginning for the legendary B.B. King with an album of the blues. Produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett, King covers tunes by the likes of Big Bill Broonzy, Lonnie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, and T Bone Walker. This is the music of the 40s and 50s brought back for us to enjoy. It has the sound of music you would hear afterhours at a dimly lit blues club.
Despite his advanced aged and his voice withering a bit as a result there are very few artists of any age who can turn out a blues album of this quality. Even though he is in his 80s King stills injects enthusiasm and freshness into everything he does. I am one of many, I'm sure, who hopes that this man can keep recording for a long time yet.
