While Part Two is not quite up to the bar set by the original film (always seems to be the case, no?), it is still a nice film. Nothing crazy or awful or fantastic. Just an easy watch.
Tibby (Amber Tamblyn – from television's Joan of Arcadia) has moved to New York, is majoring in film studies and just gone through a pregnancy scare when the condom she and her boyfriend were using broke. Though the pregnancy test comes back negative Tibby worries about her heart being broken.
Lena (Alexis Bledel – from television's Gilmore Girls) has traveled to Greece for her grandfather's funeral. While there she meets a guy (Michael Rady – The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), but upon her return finds out that he is married and has a kid. So she returns to the United States and enrols in an art class. Soon she begins to date the male model from the class.
Carmen (America Ferrera – from television's Ugly Betty) goes to Vermont to be a part of a drama group. She wants to work behind the scenes, but the leading man encourages her to audition and she ends up with the lead role. This causes some jealousy on the part of the more experienced actors.
Bridget (Blake Lively – from television's Gossip Girl) travels to Turkey to work at an archaeological dig. After finding out things about herself Bridget decides to return home to visit her grandmother. Through her grandmother she finds out things about her mother.
Once the friends reunite they have to work to renew their friendships and try to make the magic in the pants return.
A realistic film (other than the fact that these young girls seem to be able to travel everywhere on the planet without any financial worries) in which these four girls will remind you of young women you know. The characters are all fairly likable. Parts of the film will touch you and parts will make you laugh. The film is a good summer flick and full of estrogen laden fun.
