This act combines the elements of rock music along with those of an orchestra. It is kind of a twist on progressive rock. Founded in 1996 and based in New York they have found success worldwide with their unique sound.
It is convenient that they will coming to Montreal during the Christmas season as their Christmas songs are quite popular. Their only non-Christmas recording was a concept album released in 2000 that tried to sonically recreate what Beethoven's last night must have been like.
While in the studio they use a full 60-pice orchestra and a choir to achieve their sound, when they are on the road they travel with 14 musicians, 14 vocalist and 2 narrators. Live the show is divided into a section of Christmas music and then a non-Christmas section which usually includes some cover songs such as "Layla" and "Proud Mary".
