Hinder's last album, "Extreme Behavior", brought them plenty of notoriety and album sales and their follow up "Take it to the Limit" was highly anticipated. They are a kind of throw back band that would have fit right in during the rock heyday of the 1970s. Now on this album they have remained retro, but dialed it forward a decade to 1980s arena rock.
"Take it to the Limit" is full of references to metal bands Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and KISS. It is almost a loving tribute to that era of rock music. Guitarist Mick Mars of Motley Crue even makes an appearance on one of the album's tracks. He is 60 years old and still can play a mean guitar. None of the songs are of the 'serious' variety with plenty of focus on sex and rock 'n roll. It is an album to simply sing along to and have a good time.
