Attack in Black got their big break a few years ago when they opened for fellow Canadian rockers, Alexisonfire. They kept in touch with guitarist Dallas Green, and went on to tour with his solo project, City and Colour. Furthermore, Attack in Black singer Daniel Romano and guitarist Spencer Burton helped out on the latest City and Colour album by contributing all of the accompanying instrumentals to Green's acoustic guitar. Perhaps this experience is what led Attack in Black to move away from the driving guitars and pursue a more folk approach. Years is definitely a departure from the previous edgier sound heard on Marriage. It's not every band that can make such a transition a smooth one. Attack in Black have successfully embraced the current folk-trend this album. A surefire success.
