I for one am a big Amy Poehler fan and I am waiting for her to be part of a film which is up to her standards. This is certainly not the one. I am still waiting.
Thirtysomething best friends Becky (Parker Posey – Best in Show, For Your Consideration), Judi (Rachel Dratch – Click, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) and Gayle (Amy Poehler – Baby Mama, Blades of Glory) have never been part of the 'cool' group. Their opportunity finally comes knocking when Becky's boss gives her the task of chaperoning his daughter, Ashley (Amber Tamblyn – The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, The Grudge 2), unofficially on her college spring break trip to South Padre Island. These uncool ladies are all of a sudden partying with the cool kids.
"Spring Breakdown" is chiche ridden from beginning to end. Not an original idea throughout the whole film. The actress's personas are what are being used; there is no character development. Oh Amy, you deserve better!
