The musical Chicago has all that jazz and more! The revival of this popular musical has been running continuously since 1996. That is a long time in the theatre world. It came to Montreal several years back in French, but now we have the chance to see it again in English.
Chicago is one of the more 'fun' (strange to say as it is about murder and jail) musicals around. I defy you to see it and not be humming the songs and doing jazz hands long after the curtain falls. There is something about great songs and Fosse choreography that makes everything wonderful.
On top of the excitement of a Broadway musical coming to town one of the lead actresses is a local girl. Terra C. MacLeod plays the role of the vampy Velma and it gives us the chance to see and applaud one of our own who has made it big in the theatre world.
