A regular performer at the Montreal Jazz Festival through the years has been guitarist Pat Metheny. Whether he is playing free outdoor shows to huge crowds or small ticketed ones in an intimae venue, the man comes and plays. This time he is coming as part of the Gary Burton Quartet.
The quartet plays a brand of jazz fusion in which leader Gary Burton, an innovative vibraphone player, has become famous for. Many have tried to imitate their sound as it is been so influential in the jazz circles.
This tour includes Gary Burton along with Pat Metheny, Steve Swallow and Antonio Sachez. They are revisiting music from the 70s that the band made famous.
