Wilco's seventh album is filled with beautiful melodies and wonderfully arranged pop songs. They have recorded an album that plays like a love letter to their fans. It is an album for all their fans through the years as it pays tribute to all their previous work. Lead singer Jeff Tweedy sounds great and the songs are good if not groundbreaking.

The lyrics, as always, are introspective, carefully constructed and interesting. In regards to the songs on the album they vary from soft ballad to anthemia rock to piano-based songs. Within the variety they are always able to maintain the identity they have built up through the years. They are songs that will fit in comfortably on mainstream radio. While the stronger tracks can be found in the first half of the CD, it is a strong album throughout.
