Hip Hop superstar Jay-Z has a lot to be proud of. A record label, clothing line, a string of number one albums throughout the years, married to one of the top singers in the world and to top it all off, he just beat Elvis's record for most number one albums for a solo artist.
He is back with a new album to complete the Blueprint trilogy. The first hit (and my personal favorite on the album) is "Run This Town", a hot track featuring Rihanna and Kanye West. Jay-Z keeps listeners entertained with "What We Talking About" and "Thank You." He teams up with Alicia Keys on the cool "Empire State Of Mind." Canadian newcomer Drake drops some rhymes on the infectious "Off That." Venus vs. Mars" is uninspiring and "On To The Next One" is also disappointing. Kanye returns and drops rhymes on "Hate," which has a really unique sound, as does "So Ambitious" featuring Pharrell.
Jay-Z is one of the few Hip-Hop artists that pushes the envelope by experimenting with different styles of music and instrumentation. He keeps his craft current and interesting. "Blueprint 3" is generally a solid effort so check it out.
