A second album of rock radio friendly songs has been released by One Republic. It is of the same mindset, but a slightly different sound. Many of the songs are pop gems, but if you scratch the surface of the songs you'll see that there is plenty to them. Lead singer and highly in demand songwriter Ryan Tedder sings about how he does not exactly appreciate the inner workings of the industry he is a part of. He knows he is just a commodity to them and makes it clear how he feels about that.
His doubts about the music industry aside most of the album features upbeat and irresistibly catchy pop tunes. It is a mature outing as they use piano, cello, whistles, and marching drums to create their sound. The hooks are addictive and the vocals anthemic. They have another hit on their hands.
