Colin James is a singer/guitarist who is all about the blues. He has had a successful career which has seen him nominated for 14 Juno Awards and winning 6 of them. James is an excellent live performer who has become one of Canada's best known and loved rock and blues musicians.
Born in Regina this prairie boy has been wowing audiences with his mad skills on the guitar since his early teens. His prowess on the guitar caught the attention in the late 80s of guitar god Stevie Ray Vaughn and he invited James and his band to open for him on his North American tour. After the release of his debut album in 1988, which launched him into the consciousness of music fans throughout the world, his name and face became synonymous with the modern day blues and he was even involved in the swing revival in the mid 90s.
Never able to recreate the popularity he enjoyed in the late 80s and early 90s, Colin James has continued to record albums and tour Canada. His latest release is entitled "Rooftops & Satellites" and contains alternating softer and harder edged music. The album features covers of Bob Dylan's "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" and Toots & the Maytals "Johnny Coolman".
