Groove Armada

On this their seventh full-length release, Groove Armada's, formed in 1996, bringing us on a musical trip through time. A relatively 'quiet' recording, "Black Light" is a mature pop effort that uses influences like David Bowie, Serge Gainsbourg, MGMT, and Stevie Nicks. They are an outfit that just seems to get better and better.

Like many of their electronica influenced efforts on this one they use a variety of guest vocalists, such as Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) and Wil Young. Saint Saviour, also a co-writer on a few tracks, is the most frequently appearing guest vocalist and adds plenty to the album because of the ability to change vocal styles to suit the track.

The album standout is the track "Paper Romance", which is nothing if not hip and catchy.
