The East Coast of Canada has produced a number of great bands like Great Big Sea, Sloan, The Rankin Family, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, and Shaye. Another band to add to that list is In Flight Safety. From Halifax, Nova Scotia, In Flight Safety released their first EP in 2004 then signed on to Emm Gryner's Dead Daisy Records label. Now they have released their second full-length album, "We Are an Empire, My Dear" on their own label.
Their music is bold, accessible, melodic, and organic. They create sounds that will shake you out of any doldrums you might be mired in. You'll hear Coldplay and U2 in certain sections of their songs. The band has learned much touring with the likes of Broken Social Scene, Metric, Sam Roberts, and Hawksley Workman.
