41-year-old Gregory Charles is a French Canadian of Trinidadian origin. Charles began his musical career at the ripe old age of 4. He was a great piano player and also became part of the Petits-Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, the choir that sings at St. Joseph Oratory. Then came a role in a television series (Chambres en Ville) followed by his own radio show on CKOI beginning in 1991. The man was on his way to becoming a well-known personality in the province.
Gregory Charles went on to tour with Celine Dion, participate in the Just for Laughs comedy festival, host a weekly show on Radio-Canada, and become director of a children's choir.
What really brought him to the attention of the province's music fans were his one man shows. Because of these shows he has been able to record a couple of successful albums. In Quebec his album I Think of You sold more than albums by Sarah McLachlan and The Tragically Hip. Nothing to sneeze at.
This series of one man shows is called MusicMan. Charles will pay homage to many of the great singers going way back in musical history. This show will bring you on a tour of 200 years of musical history.
