In the late 1990s Usher (Usher Raymond IV) burst onto the R&B scene with the release of his second album, "My Way", which contained his first hit single, "Nice and Slow" and "You Make Me Wanna". He then followed up that success with his next album, "8701" and its hit singles "U Remind Me" and "U Got It Bad". With these two albums that sold over 16 million copies he became the number one R&B artist of the 90s.
The first decade of the 2000s was no different with his album "Confessions" selling over 20 million copies worldwide and being the top selling R&B album of the 2000s. Spawning five singles, "My Boo", "Yeah!", "Confessions Part II", "Love in this Club", and "Burn", it was at the top of the charts for a long time.
His hot streak continued in 2010 with the release of "Raymond v. Raymond". The singles "OMG" and "DJs Got Us Falling in Love" were massive hits. He has won five Grammy Awards, four World Music Awards, six American Music Awards, and an amazing nineteen Billboard Music Awards. Usher has been named one of the best selling American artists in music history having sold over 23 million albums in the U.S. alone.
No satisfied with just being a singer, Usher is also an accomplished dancer that many have called his generation's Michael Jackson, started his own record label called US Records, is part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, helped start the career of Justin Bieber, owns several restaurants, founded New Look – a non-profit charity, and has also acted in films (The Faculty, Light it Up, In the Mix) and on stage (Billy Flynn in Chicago).
