Montreal International Auto Show Preview

Each winter is the opportunity for all you car crazy folks out there to see what the auto industry has coming down the pipe. All the major car manufacturers bring to Montreal what they have in development and what you can buy from them in that particular year.

The first car show happened in 1969 and this year will be the 43rd edition. The show has grown much from its first editions having been moved several times in order to gain more space to accommodate the masses coming. Now they are centrally located in the Palais de Congres and take up four levels of space.

This year well known auto manufacturers like Chrysler, Volvo, Subaru, Audi, Lincoln, Honda/Acura, and Ford will bring their cars. Alongside them lesser known companies like Scion and Ajac will also be there.

Special sections offering something a little different will be set up over the four levels. For instance, there will be a Performance Zone – an area where there will be 30 modified and race cars which will amaze you with what they can do. Our Route to the Future is concerned with the environment and how car manufacturers are looking towards creating more ecologically sound products. Suzuki Test Drives is just that a place where you can try out the latest Suzuki models. For those who bring the young ones Kia has a Kia Motors Daycare Centre where you can drop them off and have them be looked after until you are done browsing.

With all this it promises to be a year worth remembering!
