Monk: Season Five

Several years ago actor Tony Shalhoub and his quirky television series about a detective with OCD snuck up on people and he won the Best Actor Award at the Emmys. Years later the quality of "Monk" is no surprise to anyone as this compulsively neat and tidy detective uses his orderly ways and elevated intellect to bring down those nasty criminals. This is one of those rare cult favourites that has broken into the mainstream.

Episode 1: Mr. Monk and the Actor: A well-known actor (Stanley Tucci – The Devil Wears Prada, Lucky Number Slevin) is to portray the detective Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub – The Seige, Cars). Things become dangerous when he spends too much time with Monk trying to get to know him.

Episode 2: Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike: After the death of a union boss the garbage strike in San Francisco seems like it is never going to end. Monk has to figure out whether the death was murder or suicide.

Episode 3: Mr. Monk and the Big Game: After he basketball coach's death looks a little fishy, Julie (Traylor Howard – Son of the Mask, Me, Myself & Irene) asks Monk to investigate.

Episode 4: Mr. Monk Can't See a Thing: Despite the fact that a run in with a suspect has left him blind, Monk continues to try and solve the case.

Episode 5: Mr. Monk, Private Eye: Monk is convinced by Natalie to open up his own private eye agency. His first case is not as easy as it seems.

Episode 6: Mr. Monk and the Class Reunion: Monk goes to his class reunion only to stumble upon a murder plan against one of his classmates.

Episode 7: Mr. Monk Gets a New Shrink: Dr. Kroger (Stanley Kamel – Domino) leaves his practice after his cleaning lady is killed in the office. Monk has to try and solve the murder if he wants his psychiatrist back.

Episode 8: Mr. Monk Goes to a Rock Concert: Searching for Captain Stottlemeyer's (Ted Levine – The Hills Have Eyes – 2006, Memoirs of a Geisha) son at a rock concert, Monk finds himself in the middle of a murder.

Episode 9: Mr. Monk Meets his Dad: It is Christmas and Monk's dad comes to town. Monk hits the road with his truck-driving dad.

Episode 10: Mr. Monk and the Leper: A millionaire who was thought to be missing but really has leprosy reappears and hires Monk.

Episode 11: Mr. Monk Makes a Friend: Monk meets a nice guy named Hal (Andy Richter – Blades of Glory, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of ricky Bobby) at the grocery store and they become friends. Or so Monk thinks.

Episode 12: Monk is at Your Service: Monk goes undercover as the butler of Natalie's parents next door neighbours in order to investigate a murder.

Episode 13: Mr. Monk is on the Air: A radio shock-jock is under investigation by Monk for his wife's murder.

Episode 14: Mr. Monk Visits a Farm: Lieutenant Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford – Flags of Our Fathers, Lonely Hearts) believes that his uncle, a farmer, was murder so Monk is on the case.

Episode 15: Mr. Monk and a Really, Really Dead Guy: Monk and an FBI agent pursue the same serial killer.

Episode 16: Mr. Monk Goes to the Hospital: Due to a bloody nose Monk goes to the hospital but as usual finds himself in the middle of a murder and his life is at risk.
