Northern Exposure: The Complete First and Second Seasons

Joel Fleishman (Rob Morrow – Quiz Show) has just graduated from Columbia medical school and owes the state of Alaska over $100,000 in scholarship money. In order to pay it back the fine print on his scholarship applications stated that he would work it off by practicing medicine in any part of Alaska they choose. When Joel is assigned to work in the small town of Cicely, Alaska he cannot believe it and wants out. The government of Alaska insists he works there for 4 years to pay off his debt. Joel eventually meets many of Cicely's eccentric population including, Maurice (Barry Corbin – from television's One Tree Hill) – an ex-NASA astronaut, Maggie (Janine Turner – Cliffhanger) – a pilot, Chris (John Corbett -from television's Sex and the City) – the local radio DJ, and Holling (John Cullum – from television's ER and Roswell) the owner of the local restaurant. Despite his protests, Joel ends up liking Cicely more than he could have ever imagined.

Season One: Discs 1 and 2:
Episode 1: Pilot: Dr. Joel Fleishman arrives in Alaska.

Episode 2: Brains, Know-How and Native Intelligence: Ed's uncle Anku is a proud man who won't accept modern medicine even though he is sick.

Episode 3: Soapy Sanderson: One of Cicely's most-loved residents, Soapy Sanderson, dies and it causes some friction between Joel and Maggie.

Episode 4: Dreams, Schemes and Putting Greens: A pregnant Shelly is left at the alter by Holling.

Episode 5: The Russian Flu: The flu sweeps through Cicely and threatens Joel's romantic plans.

Episode 6: Sex, Lies and Ed's Tapes: Ed tries to write a big Hollywood picture.

Episode 7: A Kodiak Moment: Maurice contemplates life and death when his brother dies.

Episode 8: The Aurora Borealis: Joel is taught about the legend of "Adam", Cicely's very own Bigfoot.

Season Two: Discs 3 and 4:
Episode 1: Goodbye to All That: Joel receives a 'Dear John' letter from his fiancée.

Episode 2: The Big Kiss: Chris loses his voice due to a beautiful mysterious woman.

Episode 3: All is Vanity: Maggie pretends that Joel, a doctor, is her boyfriend in order to impress her father.

Episode 4: What I Did For Love: Maggie's dreams about a plane crash make Joel rethink his visit to New York.

Episode 5: Spring Break: A type of spring fever hits the citizens of Cicely as they are awaiting the melting of the ice.

Episode 6: War and Peace: When Maurice's old friend Nikolai arrives in town it upsets everyone, including Maurice.

Episode 7: Slow Dance: Another of Maggie's boyfriends is killed.
