Jack White did it for Loretta Lynn, so it makes sense that he is now producing an album for female rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson. White has done a great job and brought out a kick ass album from this underappreciated musical act. He has done the music-loving public a service in reminding us what a talent this lady is. After listening to this album you won't be surprised that she counts not only White as a famous fan, but also Bruce Springsteen and Cyndi Lauper.
Though Jackson is now in her 70s, seventy-three to be precise, she shows no signs of slowing down. Her passion for music and that growl of a voice is still intact and going strong. Scorching vocals like we rarely hear nowadays. The album is filled with covers of older and newer songs. She kicks Amy Winehouse's trashy butt on "You Know That I'm No Good" and also throws in her interpretations of the Andrews Sisters' "Rum and Coca Cola" and the DeCastro Sisters' "Teach Me Tonight". The album features music of all types like country, rock, gospel, and of course rockabilly.
