The military is not only about the divisions we can see in operation and know about. Many covert divisions exist. Maybe even more than above board ones. NCIS is one of those divisions. They investigate crimes involving members of the military, specifically the marine and navy.

Episode 12: Eye Spy: A Navy commander is found dead on the beach and the NCIS team is called on to investigate his death using satellite technology.
