The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

The much anticipated continuation of the Twilight series has finally arrived. Fans have been waiting to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) get married. But for those of you who have read the book series, know very well that their wedded bliss will only be temporary as the couple will yet again face a number of challenges to stay together.

Bella and Edward are eagerly awaiting their wedding day but both of them still share some of their concerns before taking the big step. Regardless, they go ahead with their plans, and for the most part, have a beautiful outdoor wedding in the presence of friends and family. As Bella decides to remain human for a little while longer, their honeymoon on a tropical island quickly turns dramatic, as she is suddenly expecting. To everyone’s surprise, especially Edward, her health quickly begins to decline and the process is far from normal. Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is filled with anger, especially towards Edward as she could lose her life based on her related health concerns. The Cullen family rally around Bella and do whatever they can to help but Jacob’s group is determined to start a war with the Cullen clan over what has happened to Bella. Jacob switches sides and along with the Cullen’s, agrees to do whatever needs to be done in order to keep Bella safe, even if it means fighting against his own.

This film is different compared to the previous ones as it has much less special effects and major warfare scenes like they had between vampire groups in previous episodes. This one is more centered around the wedding, emotions and the relationships between Bella, Edward, Jacob and their extended families. Some scenes were pretty dramatic but obviously the film cannot capture everything from the books, which were really well written by Stephanie Meyers. If you enjoyed the series so far, you will probably enjoy this part as well. While part 1 is a fairly good watch, Part 2 will conclude the series in 2012 so fans still have something to look forward to.
