Booth and Brennan needed a break. Not from each other, rather from what they do for a living. Each team member of the Jeffersonian Institute went their own way during the break. Dr. Temperance Brennan (played by Emily Deschanel) went into the jungles of Latin America to do some forensic work, FBI Special Agent Booth (played by David Boreanaz) rejoined the U.S. Army and shipped off to Afghanistan, Sweets (played by John Francis Daley) quits the psychology business and is playing piano at a jazz bar, and Angela (played by Michaela Conlin) is very pregnant with hers and bug specialist Hodgins’ (played by T.J. Thyne). Cam (played by Tamara Taylor) is the only one who has stayed on. And at the beginning of the season, it is obvious she is not sure she made the right decision.
Episode 1: The Mastodon in the Room: In order to help Cam with a difficult and notorious case dealing with the unidentified remains of a child the team returns to work again at the Jeffersonian.
Episode 2: The Couple in the Cave: Brennan reexamines her feelings for Booth when his girlfriend Hannah (played by Katheryn Winnick) moves to Washington.
Episode 3: The Maggots in the Meathead: The Jersey Shore is the location of Booth and Brennan’s latest case.
Episode 4: The Body and the Bounty: The decaying head and hands of a bounty hunter are uncovered at the same time that Booth is given a new intern, Professor Bunsen Jude, the Science Dude (played by David Alan Grier).
Episode 5: The Bones That Weren’t: A former ballet dancer has been murdered and the Jeffersonian team is called in on the case.
Episode 6: The Shallow in the Deep: The body of a young man is discovered amidst the remains of a slave ship and Booth, Brennan and Sweets follow the clues right onto a Cougar Cruise.
Episode 7: The Babe in the Bar: Things go horribly wrong at the unveiling of the world’s largest chocolate bar when the center is revealed to contain the remains of a human.
Episode 8: The Twisted Bones in the Melted Truck: Booth and Brennan investigate students at a high school when they are given a case involving a body found melted into the dashboard of a burned car.
Episode 9: The Doctor in the Photo: Brennan finds herself disturbed greatly by the fact that she is identifying with a murder victim, who also was a brilliant doctor.
Episode 10: The Body in the Bag: Booth tells Hannah that Brennan admitted that she still have feelings for him.
Episode 11: The Bullet in the Brain: The Gravedigger (played by Deirdre Lovejoy) is the victim of a sniper’s bullet.
Episode 12: The Sin in the Sisterhood: A polygamist is found dead and there is definite jealousy between the sister-wives leading the team to suspect them all.
Episode 13: The Daredevil in the Mold: The team ends up at a BMX park investigating the death of a bicycle stunt rider.
Episode 14: The Bikini in the Soup: Valentine’s Day at the Jeffersonian Institute is all about love and murder.
Episode 15: The Killer in the Crosshairs: Jacob Broadsky (played by Arnold Vosloo) has another victim in his sights and it is up to Booth to figure out where and when the assassination attempt is going to happen.
Episode 16: The Blackout in the Blizzard: Booth and Brennan are trapped in an elevator due to a power outage but they still try to carry on with a murder investigation regardless of their surroundings.
Episode 17: The Feet on the Beach: Brennan is not happy about having to team up with a Canadian forensic podiatrist (played by Scott Howell) after eleven human feet are found on the Canadian-U.S. border.
Episode 18: The Truth in the Myth: The host of television’s “Mythbuster” is found murdered and the team is a little doubtful when the evidence points to the mythical creature known as the Chupacabra.
Episode 19: The Finder: A murder in the everglades leads to Booth asking Walter Sherman (played by Geoff Stults), a man who has the ability to find anything, for his help.
Episode 20: The Pinocchio in the Planter: A wealthy advertiser executive who is known for his uncompromising honesty is found murdered but finding who did it is going to be difficult as he had many enemies.
Episode 21: The Signs in the Silence: A young deaf girl is the primary suspect in a murder and it is up to the team to find out who she is as she refuses to communicate.
Episode 22: The Hole in the Heart: Booth is determined to capture sniper Jacob Broadsky before he kills again.
Episode 23: The Change in the Game: Booth and Brennan go undercover as a couple to join a bowling team after the remains of an unidentified male is found at the bowling alley which Brennan’s father (played by Ryan O’Neal) bowls at.
