CBS and Paramount actually took the label “fan favorites” seriously and conducted Facebook surveys to find out which truly were the favourite episodes of several television series. With a series like Cheers, one of the consistently funniest ever on television, it must have been difficult for fans to pick just a few favourites. They did and the people at CBS/Paramount narrowed it down to eight episodes.  The eight episodes are from a variety of seasons from the first to the fifth and finally the tenth. Here they are and see if you agree that they are the best.

Episode 1: Give Me a Ring Sometime: Diane (played by Shelley Long) is a woman down in the dumps as she has just been dumped by her fiancé. She stops into Cheers and after many hours realizes that he is not showing up. Sam (played by Ted Danson) feels sorry for her and, despite some doubts, offers her a job in the bar as a waitress.

Episode 2: Diane’s Perfect Date: Diane and Sam stage a competition where each is going to try and find the perfect blind date for the other. Of course, it is a total disaster.

Episode 3: Pick a Con, Any Con: Coach (played by Nicholas Colasanto) is swindled out of his money and the whole gang tries to figure out a way to get it back. (This was voted as the number one episode)

Episode 4: Abnormal Psychology: Diane plots to get Frasier (played by Kelsey Grammer) and Lilith (played by Bebe Neurwith) together.

Episode 5: Thanksgiving Orphans: Carla’s (played by Rhea Perlman) new house is the site of the gang’s Thanksgiving Dinner.

Episode 6: Dinner at Eight-ish: Frasier and Lilith invite Sam and Diane over for dinner and it becomes an evening of psychological warfare.

Episode 7: Simon Says: After a couples counseling session Sam and Diane believe they are not suited for one another.

Episode 8: An Old Fashioned Wedding, Parts 1 + 2: It is the eve of Woody (played by Woody Harrelson) and Kelly’s (played by Jackie Swanson) wedding and with the whole gang involved it becomes a night of secrets and revelations.
