Northern Irish/Scottish band Snow Patrol have had a very good couple of years, thank you very much. Now based in Glasgow, the boys of Snow Patrol (Gary Lightbody, Paul Wilson, Jonny Quinn, Nathan Connolly, Tom Simpson, Johnny McDaid ) have been together since 1994, but it was only in 2003 that commercial success came to them. And in 2006 with the release of their album Eyes Open and the hit singles “Chasing Cars” and “Run” that the band achieved worldwide success. The follow up to that album “A Hundred Million Suns” was released in 2008 and sold over 7 million copies. Their latest album, Fallen Empires, was released in early 2012 in North America. It is their sixth studio album and features strong tracks like “Called Out in the Dark”, “This Isn’t Everything You Are” and “New York”.
Besides their commercial success the band also has the respect of their peers with the like of Bono, Michael Stipe, Tommy Lee, and Nikki Sixx declaring themselves as fans of the band. They also hold the distinction of being the last band to perform on the legendary BBC show Top of the Pops.
This is a band that tours and tours hard and long. With the success of Eyes Open they toured pretty much continuously for almost two years. After a little break and the release of this album they are now in the middle of another world tour.
