Yes, that Jimmy Fallon. The guy from Saturday Night Live and who now hosts his own late night chat show. The funny and goofy guy. He gets by on this music CD with the help of his friends and what a group of friends! On Blow Your Pants Off (you didn’t expect him to be completely serious, did you?) his pals Justin Timberlake, Stephen Colbert, Eddie Vedder, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, and Dave Matthews help Fallon out. That is quite a list. It becomes even more impressive when you see that he’s gotten Bruce Springsteen to sing Willow Smith’s song “Whip My Hair”. It’s high-larious! The songs were mostly recorded in front of a live audience (so you get to hear their appreciation for what he is doing) and feature Fallon impersonating big time musical artists like The Doors, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. My two favourites on the album are “History of Rap” in which Fallon (helped out by Timberlake) goes through a litany of rap songs through the ages and “Reading Rainbow” sung by The Doors (Fallon does an amazing Jim Morrison). Blow Your Pants Off is under forty minutes long so it will definitely “blow” by you quickly…especially since you’ll miss some stuff due to laughter.
