While everyone is in the middle of Olympic mania what better PBS series to watch than one called Queen & Country?  None, I say.  First it is a PBS production so you know it is going to be first rate and it about a woman who has been on the British throne for 60 years.

Queen Elizabeth II is quite a woman. The monarch of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales) is a very important woman in that part of the world. Due to the prominence of the position you can imagine the amount of pomp and circumstance that surrounds it.  Over the hundreds of years of the monarchy in the United Kingdom many rituals have sprung up around it.  From the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace to the royal visits, we get an inside look at them and the history behind them.

The series is divided into different chapters or sections.  The chapters are: London: Royal City, Royal Visit, The Queen’s Possessions and Traveller.

A celebration of a life spent in service to her country and kingdom.
