Osheaga Keeps Getting Bigger

Since its inaugural year in 2006 Osheaga has became a bigger and more influential music festival.  Located at in its usual outdoor venue at Parc Jean Drapeau, Osheaga is reputed to be the largest festival of its kind in Canada.  Like many of its counterparts in Europe, the festival’s focus is on music, but there is also attention paid to visual arts.  Being outdoors is wonderful as long as the weather cooperates.  There is nothing better than watching and listening to great music outdoor, under the sun with thousands of other people.

Osheaga has always been wonderful about bringing up and coming acts.  In previous years they have showcased acts not yet known like Ellie Goulding, Lights, Patrick Watson, M.I.A., Chromeo, Coeur de Pirate, and Anna Calvi.  They have also brought in big names like Coldplay, Keane, Eminem, Elvis Costello, Jason Mraz, Arcade Fire, and The Killers.  This year’s lineup looks no less exciting and cutting edge with sets by The Black Keys, Garbage, Florence & the Machine, Franz Ferdinand, Snoop Dogg, City and Colour, Down With Webster, and Kathleen Edwards.

With four stages (River, Mountain, Green, and Trees) going on and on top of that a Zone Piknic Electronique featuring acts like Prison Garde, Funkyfalz, Simon Called Peter, and Zombie Disco Squad.

All the weekend passes have been sold out, so you can only buy day passes at this point.
