Canadian Rock Group Saga is Still Going Strong

I think everyone, including the band members, was thankful that this Canadian progressive rock band changed their name from Pockets to Saga. From the group forming in 1977, the band’s name change to their debut release in 1978 everything worked out just fine, thank you.

The band has won a Juno Award, released 21 studio albums along with 5 live albums and sold over 8 million albums worldwide.  They never really achieved any big success in the U.S. or on the Billboard Music Charts, but they have maintained a very loyal fanbase over their 35 years together.  Over the 35 years there have been numerous lineup changes within the ranks of Saga.  Presently Saga is composed of Michael Sadler (vocals/guitar/bass/synthesizers), Mike Thorne (drums), Jim Crichton (bass/keyboards/synthesizer/guitar), Ian Crichton (guitar), and Jim Gilmour (synthesizer/keyboards/vocals/clarinet/harmonica).

Their latest CD 20/20 was released this year and during July it reached number one on amazon.ca.
