Roxette Makes a Comeback

During the late 1980s and early 1990s Swedish pop rock duo Roxette were pretty much the cat’s pajamas.  Vocalist Marie Fredriksson and guitarist Per Gessle had a number of Top 10 singles like “Dangerous”, “Sleeping in My Car” and “Fading Like a Flower” and even a bunch of Number Ones like “The Look”, “It Must Have Been Love”, “Joyride”, and “Listen to Your Heart”.

After all that commercial success, Roxette took a break from the mid-90s until 1999.  They then released two albums, Have a Nice Day (1999) and Room Service (2001).  Just when it seemed like they had their momentum back a health issue forced the band to take another break.  Marie Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

After a break of eight years in 2009 Roxette began to play shows together again and in 2011 released an album entitled Charm School.  Again building momentum they released another album, Travelling, this year.
