After taking a couple of years off The Killers are back. Several members did their own thing during the time off and it seems to have worked as they have come back better than ever. The first single from the album is “Runaways” and shows that they are still the guitar-based, good time band that they have always been. It is a jam that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles at live shows. Plenty of stadium rock and rousing hymns (though it must be said that Flowers sometimes gets a little to sentimental for my liking) to be found here. Many of the songs feel like they can’t really be contained by Make no mistakes this is a rock album and lead singer Brandon Flowers sings the bejesus out of it whenever he can. The boy has been blessed with a majestic voice. All this rock ‘n roll stuff makes the smatterings of electronica all that more interesting. The band from Las Vegas is back and in fine form.
