Alanis Morissette is Looking to Wreak Some Havoc

Canada’s multi-dimensional songbird Alanis Morissette is coming to town.  If you are not familiar with her music then you will find out quickly that this woman has her own sound, is very introspective, controversial, spiritual, uses her songs as confessionals, and is occasionally foul-mouthed. She also has a great voice which is rich and full of emotion.

Listening to an Alanis Morissette album has always been like reading her journal. Never one to hold her feelings back, Morissette gives you a glimpse into her heart and soul. Now, for some it is at times too much, too intimate, but for millions of others this is just what they are looking for. Many love her frankness and intimacy.

Getting married and becoming a mother seems to have tempered Alanis Morissette’s anger levels.  No longer is she the angry girl who spat out the words to her songs and inspired a generation of women to speak out. Now she is more like Mother Earth. What has not changed is how introspective and revealing she is in her songs. She still sings about her life and how she feels about it.

Despite her up and down career, you cannot fault this artist for sticking to what she loves. Alanis makes the kind of music that she wants to whether it sells or not. She remains accessible in her explorations of a myriad of emotions.
