Why release one album when three is much more fun? Nothing wrong with recording three albums all at once and then releasing them one by one in quick succession. As long as you have enough quality material to go around. Pop punk band Green Day has just come off two opus-like works, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, that were long and heavy for a band of their genre. Now with Uno! they have come full circle back to the type of album filled with fun songs that all seem like they could be singles. They are back to being bad boys (plenty of cursing to be found here) with blue collar sensibilities. Long time fans of the ban will think we’ve gone back to the Dookie album for the band as this sounds a lot like the music from that massive selling album. It is girls and parties 24/7. Every song explodes out of the gate and does not settle down. Can you say adrenaline? You’ll also hear plenty of influences as varied as U2, The Yardbirds, The Smiths, The Clash, and David Bowie within these twelve tracks. Sit back and enjoy but do it quickly as Dos! And Tres! are gonna follow very soon.
