These L.A. hair metal rockers have been around a while. This is their sixth studio album. It is a concept album that focuses on investigating the seven deadly sins. I don’t think a rock outfit could select a better theme. Sin really does lend itself to a heavy rock sound. It is heavy without sacrificing melody. In other words the band is back to what they did well in the beginning of their career. The songs work well as an complete entity with one song just naturally shifting into the next. I would have to say that the only thing that didn’t quite work was the lyrics in regards to the heavy sound. It sounds like they were trying to belly button gaze and be sensitive on a couple of tracks it really doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell to register because of the loudness of the music. It’s there you just really have to listen for it.
