Dark and twisted. These are two very accurate words that can be used to describe the comedy stylings of Anthony Jeselnik. Nothing is too crass, rude or out of bounds for this guy. He sees nothing wrong with cracking a rape joke or two or three. If you are easily offended stay away. Far away. Many of his one-liners are brutal. Dispensing very little energy in that he just walks slowly back and forth across the stage all of his concentration goes into being as evil as possible. It almost seems like he doesn’t really want his audience to laugh rather he feels satisfaction when they gasp in horror.
Filmed at a performance in Chicago he covers topics as wide ranging as death, blind dates, his ex-girlfriend, how he doesn’t like all the travel involved in his job, how being a mother is one of the toughest jobs in the world, and yes, rape. Some of the funniest stuff involves him ad-libbing or talking to members of the audience.
