The ocean is a world of mystery. A deep blue world of mystery. A mystery because what happens and lives within it is kept a mystery as it is occurring out of our sight. That makes us very curious about what goes on there. We have an almost uncontrollable urge to figure it all out. This documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot will go a long way towards unlocking the mystery.

Researchers, biologists and oceanographers from several different countries pool their knowledge and know how to create the backbone of this documentary. Though the continents all have some sort of contact with the different oceans of the planet they still remain as murky as their water. The images are breathtaking and illuminating at the same time.

We sometimes forget that the bodies of water on this planet are responsible for all live. They gave birth to us and sustain us. The oceans on this planet are vital to us. OMEGA, the two directors, underwater cameras, and the science that comes along with the involvement of the Tara Expeditions. Their goal is to educate us about the importance of the oceans and the crystal clear, beautiful pictures help illustrate life in the oceans. We are also reminded that to continue on as a species we have to live in harmony with this ecosystem.
