This Canadian songstresses third time at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival seems like the perfect opportunity to capture a live performance. It is her first live DVD in ten years. From her show on July 2, 2012 it shows a mature and confident performance by the former wild rocker. Morissette’s show nicely blends her biggest hits like “Hand in My Pocket”, “You Learn” and “Ironic” along with songs from her latest album, Havoc and Bright Lights, like “Man Down”, “I Remain” and “Guardian”. What hasn’t changed over the years is the confessional nature of her songs. Hearing her sing is akin to knowing what is in her heart and mind. Then there is that unique voice which is the perfect conduit for the poetic lyrics.
