We all remember the laughs, the hairstyles, the coffee shop, the dating each other, and Smelly Cat. Six friends who live in New York and are trying to negotiate being adults meaning work and relationships. It worked as a series because they all were different. Monica (played by Courtney Cox) was the neat and control freak. Chandler (played by Matthew Perry) was the funny guy. Joey (played by Matt LeBlanc) was the himbo. Rachel (played by Jennifer Aniston) was the pretty girl trying to adjust to life not being the spoiled princess. Ross (played by David Schwimmer) was the nice guy with the secret crush on Rachel. And finally, Phoebe (played by Lisa Kudrow) was the loveable eccentric. This is where it all began.
Episode 1: The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate: Rachel has left her fiancé at the altar then moves in with Monica and meets all her friends.
Episode 2: The One With the Sonogram at the End: Ross’s ex-wife, who has discovered she is a lesbian, tells him that she is pregnant with his child.
Episode 3: The One With the Thumb: Phoebe finds a thumb in a soda can and Chandler starts smoking again.
Episode 4: The One With George Stephanopoulos: Rachel gets her first paycheck and the girls have a slumber party.
Episode 5: The One With the East German Laundry Detergent: Joey tries to make and old girlfriend jealous by having Monica pretend to be his girlfriend and Ross teaches Rachel how to do laundry.
Episode 6: The One With the Butt: Chandler starts dating a married woman who also has another boyfriend.
Episode 7: The One With the Blackout: There is a citywide blackout in New York trapping Chandler in an ATM with Jill Goodacre and Ross tries to tell Rachel that he has feelings for her.
Episode 8: The One Where Nana Dies Twice: Ross falls into an empty grave and everyone at Chandler’s work thinks he is gay.
Episode 9: The One Where Underdog Gets Away: Monica burns her first Thanksgiving dinner and Ross sings to his unborn child.
Episode 10: The One With the Monkey: The gang agrees and then breaks the agreement of celebrating New Year’s Eve without dates.
Episode 11: The One With Mrs. Bing: Chandler’s mom comes to New York for a visit and Joey catches her and Ross kissing.
Episode 12: The One With the Dozen Lasagnas: Rachel’s boyfriend makes a pass at Phoebe and everyone knows the sex of Ross’s child except him.
Episode 13: The One With the Boobies: Chandler accidently sees Rachel naked so she tries to get back at him by catching him in the buff.
Episode 14: The One With the Candy Hearts: Joey sets Chandler up on a blind date and Ross and his date end up at the same restaurant as Carol and her girlfriend.
Episode 15: The One With the Stoned Guy: Monica cooks something on an interview at a restaurant but the owner is so stoned he could care less what she makes.
Episode 16: The One With Two Parts, Part 1: Joey is attracted to Phoebe’s twin sister, Ursula and Chandler doesn’t know what to do when he is asked to fire an employee he is attracted to.
Episode 17: The One With Two Parts, Part 2: Rachel finally takes down her Christmas lights but falls and sprains her ankle. At the hospital she begs Monica to chance identities with her because she has no insurance.
Episode 18: The One With All the Poker: Rachel applies for the job of Assistant Buyer at Saks Fifth Avenue and she sees another side of Ross when the guys play the girls in poker.
Episode 19: The One Where the Monkey Gets Away: Marcel escapes when Rachel was supposed to be watching him and so everyone goes out looking for him.
Episode 20: The One With the Evil Orthodontist: Rachel starts dating Barry again and it is difficult because he is engaged to someone else.
Episode 21: The One With the Fake Monica: Monica’s credit card is stolen and she decides to try and find the thief herself.
Episode 22: The One With the Ick Factor: Monica’s new boyfriend admits to her he is still in high school and Rachel has dreams about Chandler and Joey which makes Ross jealous.
Episode 23: The One With the Birth: Monica’s biological clock is really ticking and Carol goes into labour.
Episode 24: The One Where Rachel Finds Out: At Rachel’s birthday party Chandler accidentally tells her that Ross is in love with her.
