It’s Time Again for Le Mondial de la Biere

When you arrive at this year’s Mondial de la Bière make sure you wish it a happy birthday.  Le Mondial de la Bière is celebrating its 20th year.  Each year this very popular festival brings beer fans and connoisseurs from near and far.  They all gather to celebrate their favourite drink and learn more about it.

Le Mondial de la Biere is a time for tasting, talking, meeting new people, and discovering new beers.  You could go every day and still not be able to get to try all the variety they have to offer.  There is plenty to try as there is going to be over 550 products with 229 of them making their first appearance at the festival for every pallet including beer, cider and meads.  The beers and like products will be coming from more than 120 different breweries.

Besides the traditional tasting and food kiosks there will be lots of special events taking place.  In celebration of the festival’s 20th birthday an all-girl Mondial team has collaborated in the brewing of a new beer called Le Biertrotter.  This Montreal Pale Ale has been created in association with Cheval Blanc brewery and their master-brewer Isaël Dagenais.  There will also be demonstrations such as Cooking With Beer as well as special features like Bistro des Regions and a contest called MBEER GOURMAND.  This exciting new contest will see brewers from 16 different breweries put up the 16 different beers they have developed especially for the Mondial.  The judges will have the difficult task of picking the winner.  And all this is just the tip of the iceberg as there is a lot more going on.

This year there has been a venue change as Le Mondial de la Bière will take place at the Palais de Congrès.  There is plenty of interior space as well as a beautiful outside terrace called L’Esplanade (de la Gauchetière between Chenneville and Côté).

Gather a group of friends and head over to the best 20th birthday party this city has ever seen.
